Despite my professional career primarily focusing on graphic design and static imagery, it was founded on a love of moving images and animation. Artists like Georges Méliès, Willis O'Brien, Ub Iwerks, Max Fleischer, Karl Zeman, and Terry Gilliam inspire much of my work, from illustration to typeface design.  I remember staying up late while growing up in Detroit, MI, to watch the Canadian Film Council's animation shorts before the CBC network signoff at 2 am. This work inspired me to become a graphic designer.
For the past few years, I've used animation for professional projects. I've also explored acting, puppetry, and writing to explore storytelling. Now, I want to combine my professional experience with the new creative skills I'm learning to use animation as a larger and more personal art form for storytelling.
